You can then use that stored energy to power you home at times when your Solar panels don’t generate enough electricity, including at night, on cloudy days, and during power outages.

Solar for Homes Rebate

Typical households can save up to $640 per year on electricity bills when they install solar panels.

Sun Station is an Authorised Solar Battery Provider under the Victorian State Government’s Solar for Homes Program. A rebate is available for homeowners with existing homes, and homes under construction.

Rebate

Eligible homeowners can access a Rebate of up to $2,950 towards the installation cost of a Solar Battery System.

Eligibility Criteria

Victorian households are eligible to receive the rebate if they meet the following criteria:

They are the owner of an existing property or of a home under construction.
Owners have a combined household taxable income of less than $180,000 per year.
They have not already received a solar battery rebate or a solar PV rebate.
The property address has not already received a solar battery rebate or a solar PV rebate.

It is an existing property, valued at under $3 million. or a home under construction that will be valued at under $3 million at the time of completion
The property already has solar PV panels with a capacity equal to or greater than 5kW or is arranging to have one installed in conjunction with the solar battery installation

The system must be purchased from an authorised solar provider, like Sun Station, and products must be on the Solar for Homes approved products list.
Pre-approval is obtained from your Distributed Network Service Provider (DNSP) to safely connect a battery to the grid. The owner/s agrees to receive information from their Distribution Network Service Provider about taking part in battery trials to maximise the value households get from them.

The benefit of the interest free loan is that you can pay back the loan using the significant savings achieved by reducing power bills.

How does Solar work ?

Solar Power is produced when energy from the sun is converted into electricity

Energy created by the heat and light of the sun is called Solar Energy.

Regardless of the type of system, all Solar PV Systems work on the same basic principles.

Solar panels first convert sunlight into DC power using what is known as the photovoltaic (PV) effect.
The DC power can then be stored in a battery or converted by a solar inverter into AC power, which can then be used to power your home or business.
Depending on the type of system, excess solar energy can either be fed into the electricity grid for credits or stored in a variety of different battery storage systems.
